Brett Maguire

Brett Maguire is a classical musician, yoga teacher, and rock climber.  His musical career has included playing an organ recital at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris to performing with the Boston Symphony Orchestra under John Williams at Tanglewood. Brett began practicing yoga thirteen years ago, when chronic back pain began to emerge from years of practicing piano and organ with poor body movement patterns. Over years of practice, yoga has continually brought about relief from pain, greater body awareness, and above all, an ability to alter his mental landscape and find a quiet stillness even in turbulent times. Brett believes the tools of yoga can be beneficial to all people, no matter one’s age, size, gender, or flexibility.

Brett completed his 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Kripalu Yoga Institute in the Berkshires.  For the past four years, he has maintained a daily Ashtanga yoga practice in the Mysore tradition in Brookline, studying with Kate O’Donnell.
